“Art-football”-2014 opened in Moscow

Military orchestra, drummers’ defile, songs and dances and thousands of fans and spectators – that was the opening ceremony of the IV Artists’ World Championship – “Art-football” festival which took place last night in the Sokolniki park of the Russsian capital.
After the World Cup presentation and the words of greetings by Moscow officials each team sang a song/ Later in the night the Moscow public could admire the magic voices of The Tenors of Rock.
From today to June 1 16 teams taking part in the Artists’ World Cup will compete for the title. The teams are divided in 4 groups with 4 teams in each group. The team finishing first in the group qualify for the Absolute Stars group, finishing second – for the Super Stars group, finishing third – for the All Stars group and finishin fourth – for the Stars Forever group.
The play-off games are scheduled for May 30 and 31.
As usual Brazil are the big favorites of the tournament with Russia (champion-2008), Romania (finalist-2013) and Israel to challenge the magicians of the ball. Italy, Iran and Kazakhstan are making their debuts.
On June 1, the closing day of the Festival, a charity match “Rosich-Starco” – The Rest of the World will be played to raise money to help seriously ill children.
Football is only part of the festival program. Every night 2 teams free from games will perform on the stage of the Sokolniki park supported by special guests - East 17, Nazareth, Fools Garden, Manolo – Voice of the Gypsy, Toto Cutugno and the Russian stars Valery Siutkin, Romario and ViP duo.
